Enthusiastic response to Deepika Mahila Sanghati’s fete

Rourkela: The grand jamboree organized by Deepika Mahila Sanghati, a leading charitable organisation of the Steel City, and inaugurated by G S Prasad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on December 15, evoked enthusiastic response from the Rourkelites who enjoyed to their hearts’ content two evenings of fun, food and festivity.

Stalls offering mouth watering delicacies ranging from fast-food to traditional snacks attracted large crowd. Games, lucky draw and housie which tested the dexterity, skill, flair, acumen and above all fate, were a huge draw for the young and the young at heart.

Stall by Rajbhasha Department of RSP held the attention of the language lovers, while the stall showcasing the crafts made by the students of ‘Home and Hope’ was the cynosure of all eyes. Melodious songs presented on the occasion added to the ambience of celebration.

The proceeds of the fete would be spent for charitable activities being undertaken by Deepika Mahila Sanghati, said its president, Manjari Prasad.
